Chef Rafa Costa e Silva trained extensively in the Basque country, including at Mugaritz. He returned to Brazil to create Lasai (meaning 'tranquil' in Euskera) with wife Malena Cardiel, focusing on vegetables from his own gardens in Itanhangá and Vale das Videiras.
