Michel Husser

Le Cerf holds what may be France's longest continuously-held family Michelin star: Paul Wagner first earned it in 1936 — 90 consecutive years by 2026. Wagner's great-granddaughter married into the Husser family; Michel Husser trained under Marc Haeberlin at Auberge de l'Ill, Alain Senderens in Paris, and in Vancouver, before returning to Marlenheim to continue the family legacy. The restaurant sits at the gateway of the Alsace Wine Route — every major wine village lies along the road south from Marlenheim's doorstep. Michel Husser now operates alongside a new head chef (Joël Philipps), with the next generation (Luca Husser, Michel's son) continuing the family line.
