About Masashi Yamaguchi

Born in Nakano, Tokyo in 1981. Trained at a sushi restaurant in Nakano, then worked the counter at Hinokizaka at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo for five years. Moved to Sushi Masuda in Minami-Aoyama, learning techniques from Masuda who inherited the skills of Jiro Ono. Later launched Sushi Wakon at Four Seasons Kyoto and Peninsula Tokyo. Opened his own restaurant in June 2020, earning a Michelin star within a year.
