About Jason Liang
O by Brush operates as a counter-within-a-restaurant concept: O (the omakase experience) exists inside Brush (the broader sushi restaurant). Liang's Taiwan upbringing gives him a perspective on Japanese ingredients that is simultaneously insider and outsider — someone who grew up eating Japan-influenced cuisine outside Japan, developing a unique sensitivity to Japanese flavors.
Jason Liang, born in South Carolina and raised in Taiwan, grew up immersed in Japanese cuisine as deeply woven into Taiwanese culture. He is chef-owner of O by Brush, a James Beard-nominated Michelin-starred omakase counter inside Brush Sushi in Buckhead. His cooking reflects the Japanese-Taiwanese cultural intersection he grew up in.
