Chatchai Klanklong

Chatchai Klanklong operates France's only Michelin-starred Thai restaurant — a distinction unique in European gastronomy. He runs the kitchen alongside his brother Kriangkai and mother Khai. In April 2025, L'Orchidée relocated from its original Altkirch location to a stunning Renaissance mansion in Ensisheim (Hôtel-Restaurant La Couronne, built 1610) — a 16-room 4-star hotel with a custom-designed kitchen, wellness spa with Thai massage, and 400-500 bottle wine cellar. Klanklong's tasting menus (no à la carte) combine classical Thai technique with exceptional French luxury ingredients: Kristal Kaviari caviar, Breton langoustine, and blue crab.
