About Arnaldo Azevedo

Vila Foz takes its name from the Foz neighborhood — the Atlantic mouth of the Douro, where Porto's old bourgeoisie built their summer villas. Azevedo's cooking reflects this neighborhood's Atlantic character: Galician octopus from the Foz market, wild sea bass, coastal herbs — Portuguese coastal fine dining at the point where river meets ocean.

Arnaldo Azevedo, born in Porto in 1987, grew up in a family with deep restaurant roots. He leads the kitchen at Vila Foz Hotel & Spa, earning one Michelin star with a contemporary Portuguese tasting menu rooted in northern Portugal's produce — Atlantic fish, Minho wines, mountain cheeses.
