About Matteo Grandi

The restaurant overlooks Piazza dei Signori and the 15th-century Basilica Palladiana — one of Vicenza's most dramatic architectural spaces. Grandi's cooking honors this setting with a deeply Vicentino cuisine: Berico Hills pork, Asiagiana dairy, white asparagus from Bassano.

Matteo Grandi, born April 1990 in Vicenza, learned regional Italian cooking from his paternal grandmother before formalizing his training. He and his wife Elena Lanza (pastry chef and front-of-house manager) opened Matteo Grandi in Basilica on Piazza dei Signori in 2023, earning a Michelin star in 2025.
