About Loïc Lefebvre
Loïc Lefebvre named his restaurant the 'Painter's Workshop' in homage to Martin Schongauer — the 15th-century German Renaissance painter who worked in this very neighbourhood of Colmar. L'Atelier du Peintre has held its Michelin star since 2011 (14 consecutive years through 2025) and occupies a cosy 15th-century house. Lefebvre's philosophy is 'taste above all' — modern French cuisine celebrating Alsatian regional treasures with bold creativity. His marinated Marennes oyster with green apple and dill (Michelin-noted), matured Salers beef tenderloin, and duck liver with celery emulsion are the defining dishes.
