About Leandro Luppi
Malcesine sits on the eastern (Verona) shore of Lake Garda, often overlooked in favor of the Brescia side. Luppi's achievement — earning and holding a Michelin star for two decades on this quieter shore — established Malcesine as a culinary destination in its own right.
Leandro Luppi has been the chef-owner of Vecchia Malcesine on Lake Garda since 1998, when he transformed an old tavern into a modern restaurant. He earned his Michelin star in 2004 — the first ever awarded on the Verona side of Lake Garda — and has retained it for over 20 years.
